Dyson DC32 AnimalPro Extra Review
When I tried out Dyson's new DC32 AnimalPro Extra, I must admit that I had my initial reservations; not because I lacked confidence in their brand, but because of the number of furry pets that come in and out of my home I could almost charge admission at the front door!
Along with the constant fur and dander, I deal with dust and debris due to the fact that my windows are at ground level in a busy city like Madrid. Even when opened only an inch, all of the filth from the sidewalk finds its way to my apartment.
The day that the DC32 AnimalPro Extra arrived in its big, shiny box I opened it with great anticipation to find what looked like a pink futuristic Sci-fi weapon of mass destruction staring back at me. Unstoppable, the DC32 proved to be just that.
Dyson includes a variety of interchangeable heads that offer limitless possibilities to the machine and its capacity to attack different areas and types of debris. Though I'm not sure what each and every head is specifically designed for just yet, I find it entertaining to test them out. Not all of the accessory heads have a convenient storage spot on the machine's body but when given SO MANY of them it the bundle I can see how it could almost be impossible.
I found the body to be a bit cumbersome and awkward at times to maneuver but I chalked this up to my lack of personal experience with this particular style of machine as I have always used an upright.
Dyson's slogan is that their machines don't lose suction. I have found this to be true during my short use of the DC32. After doing some research, I have read multiple commentaries of Dyson users that have machines that are 7-10 years old and still work just like the day they purchased it!
Sounds all too good to be true, no?? Well, not so fast!
I find the DC32 to be a bit loud and therefore I am very cautious of the hours I turn it on so as not to annoy my neighbors.
It tackles my pet hair with ease but tended to clog at first due to the amount of hair being removed. The DC32 is easy to disassemble to remove obstructions and clicks back together to finish the job at hand.
Aside from its large size that is quite problematic when living in a small apartment in the city, I find the only other setback to the Dyson DC32 to be its price-tag. With a listed PVP at €555, the average consumer may see this to be excessive and look to other pet models on the market that average hundreds of Euros less. My advice to this deterrent would be to think of it not as a purchase but as an INVESTMENT. What other appliance do you have currently that works like new 7-10years after you purchased it?!
